New York Fashion Week Series: Tibi Spring 2010 Collection

Back in the day (Tuesday night) we stopped at Bryant Park to check out what Tibi was feeling for spring/summer 2010 and came away asking ourselves, “Are we down with the 1990s like that?” Eh, not so much. However, we give props where props are due — and designer Amy Smilovic has some coming her way for what was really a fresh collection.
There were some standouts, namely a floaty V-neck shift in an abstract calla lily print of yellow, lavender, and green and an electric red blouse paired with azure silk miniskirt. We also loved an awesome single-sleeved dress adorned with circular bands of gold sequins, coral, and lime rippling from the shoulder and hemline. Apart from these studs, we saw lots of ’90s minimalist bias-cut shifts, silky shorts and blazers, and glimpses of the not-so-distant past.
